Commitment to Quality

ARTEL Quality Management System

Quality is taken seriously at ARTEL, from top management down, from product receiving to product shipping, and from supplier evaluation to customer service. The in-depth communication throughout the organization and customer-focused approach are key factors in achieving our high-quality standard.

ARTEL maintains a stringent Quality Management System (QMS) to support efficient company operations and superior product quality.  Our QMS is certified to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System-Requirements and complies with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Quality System Regulation 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 820. ARTEL is also registered with the FDA for manufacture of a class 1 medical device.

ARTEL Laboratory

The ARTEL Laboratory is an independent entity that adheres to an even more stringent quality standard. The laboratory quality policies are a commitment to good laboratory practice and to the highest quality of service for our testing and calibration activities.

The ARTEL Laboratory’s QMS is certified to ISO 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.  The ARTEL Laboratory master code 126100 has been accredited by A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) for technical competence in the fields of Chemical Testing (Certificate 2093-01) and Calibration (Certificate 2093-03). ARTEL is routinely assessed by an A2LA technical expert to confirm the competence of our:

  • Technicians
  • Tests and calibration methods
  • Proficiency testing program
  • Quality system

ARTEL’s accreditation allows us to supply our customers with calibration certificates for PCS Instrument, PCS Calibrator Kit, and MVS Calibrator Plate that comply with ISO 17025 requirements.

Developing Industry Quality Standards

With unique liquid handling quality assurance expertise, ARTEL works with laboratory quality agencies around the world to develop international standards for pipette calibration.  Dr. Richard Curtis, ARTEL’s Chairman and Director of Technology, was the primary author of ISO 8655-7, which provides guidance on non-gravimetric methods of volume measurement.  Dr. George Rodrigues, ARTEL’s Senior Scientific Manager, also contributes to maintenance and revision of pipetting and volume measurement standards for ASTM International.
